About Us:

Rural Emancipation Society (RES), Bangladesh is a non-political and not-for-profit organization, solely devoted to the welfare of humanity. The word emancipation means “to free someone from social and economic restrictions.”

The programs of RES allow rural people to rise in social standing, come out of poverty and achieve a lifestyle to be proud of. The purpose of the organization is “Alleviating rural poverty through capacity development, active community participation and empowering women”. The organization is working for the cause of needy, poor and deprived humanity.

RES received approval from the government of Bangladesh on January 29, 2007 with a Reg. No: S-6355(600)/07.

Initiated in December 2006, the organization is working in three major areas: Poverty Alleviation; Education; and Health and Environmental issues.

Currently , RES is working on poverty alleviation projects. It has projects in three thana (sub-districts): Kotwali, Fulphur and Haluaghat thana under district of Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Since it commenced its journey, the organization has supported 40 families.

Rural Emancipation Society (RES), Bangladesh and RES Foundation Australia Inc. are sister organizations. RES Foundation Australia Inc. is particularly initiated to raise fund from here in Australia and send to RES Bangladesh to implement its joint project in Bangladesh.
