About Us:
Rural Emancipation Society (RES),
Bangladesh
is a non-political and not-for-profit organization, solely devoted to
the welfare of humanity.
The word emancipation means “to free someone from social and economic
restrictions.”
The programs of RES allow rural people to rise in social standing, come
out of poverty and achieve a lifestyle to be proud of.
The purpose of the organization is
“Alleviating rural poverty through capacity development, active
community participation and empowering women”. The organization is
working for the cause of needy, poor and deprived humanity.
RES
received approval from the government of Bangladesh on
January 29, 2007 with a Reg. No: S-6355(600)/07.
Initiated
in December 2006, the organization is working in three major areas:
Poverty Alleviation; Education; and Health and Environmental issues.
Currently ,
RES is working on poverty alleviation projects. It has projects in three
thana (sub-districts): Kotwali, Fulphur and Haluaghat
thana under district of Mymensingh,
Bangladesh.
Since it commenced its journey, the organization has supported 40
families.
Rural Emancipation Society (RES), Bangladesh and
RES Foundation Australia Inc. are sister organizations. RES Foundation
Australia Inc. is particularly initiated to raise fund from here in
Australia and send to RES Bangladesh to implement its joint project in
Bangladesh.
